At Crazy Aaron's we make Thinking Putty®, Land of Dough and other creative, innovative products to inspire curiosity, wonder and to educate and delight our customers all over the world. 

In 1998, Crazy Aaron’s launched into a successful niche producing Thinking Putty®. Aaron’s very first product that hit the market was Classic Coral, a crude approximation of the putty he remembered from his youth. Since then, Crazy Aaron's has pushed boundaries to create a multitude of new products and product lines that no one thought could exist. In March of 2020, Aaron found himself using chemistry in a way he never expected to do. 

2020 catapulted Crazy Aaron’s into a new line of product development, hand sanitizer. In just 72 hours, our engineering team successfully changed over the production line to produce hand sanitizer, obtained the necessary government approvals, and donated the first 100 gallons to local first responders. We continued to donate sanitizer as the year rolled on including 2,000 gallons and 737 automated dispensers to the Camden County School District in New Jersey as teachers and students were going back to school. 

"Chemistry and formulas are what we do," said Aaron Muderick, the company's founder and executive chairman, who describes himself as a science geek. "We have the ability to hop on science projects quickly. We looked at this effort to create an FDA-approved hand sanitizer formula as the ultimate science project."

We are proud to share that we produced approximately 30,000 gallons of liquid hand sanitizer in 2020. 

Crazy Aaron’s continues its march into new product categories, still mindful of its Thinking Putty® foundation and specialty retail roots. 

With inspiration from hand sanitizer production in 2020, we created Clean with Color – a revolutionary, hyper-color soap that combines Crazy Aaron's amazing color technology with gentle and effective cleansing that's fun for kids. The ground-breaking new Clean with Color line completely changes color as the product is used, making hand washing fun and encouraging children to clean properly. 

Give children an extra reason to wash their hands! Created using Hypercolor technology, this color changing natural foam soap is a blast to use. Watch as it changes in your hands and then rinses clear. It smells terrific, too! Gentle and effective, this natural foam soap changes from color to white to let kids know when they have thoroughly scrubbed.   

Between slime, putty, and sand, compounds had a toy resurgence related to the unprecedented year and stresses of 2020. We went back to the drawing board and thought about what creative new play patterns remain to be created. That is how Hide Inside Thinking Putty® came to be. It combines children's love of brightly colored tiny objects, children's innate desire to hide, seek and collect and children's kinesthetic need to manipulate items with their hands.
