Happy Bloomin’ Friday!
Big news on the trade front this week! In a swift and decisive ruling, the U.S. Court of International Trade confirmed that businesses are entitled to full refunds of unlawfully collected tariffs imposed under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA).
This decision follows the lawsuit brought by Learning Resources and hand2mind, the Woldenberg family, whose courageous actions brought the issue forward on behalf of many businesses affected by the tariffs. Stephen Woldenberg: Court of International Trade’s Swift, Clear, and Decisive Ruling on Tariff Refunds
We are delighted by the Court of International Trade’s swift, clear, and decisive ruling on tariff refunds. The Court confirmed that businesses are entitled to full refunds of unlawfully collected IEEPA tariffs.
This decision represents another important affirmation of the Rule of Law and provides clarity for businesses that have borne the financial burden of these unlawful tariffs. The ruling should now allow the refund process to move forward in an orderly and efficient manner.
Learning Resources and hand2mind are proud to have initiated this matter and delivered an historic victory for all Americans.
