Hello

1,200+ Listings and Counting: hobbyDB's Local Directory Keeps Growing

by HobbyDB | 10 Aug 2025

Press Release

Exciting news collectors! The hobbyDB Local Directory has officially passed a major milestone: more than 1,000 active listings of collectible stores, events, museums, and more. And we’re not slowing down.

With 1,262 listings and counting, the Directory has grown more than 500% in just the last 3 months, thanks to the help of our community, brand partners, and collectors around the world. The goal? To create the most complete global map of all things collectibles.

We love the idea of a Local Directory - Whether you’re planning a trip, exploring your own city, or searching for a specific collectible experience, the Local Directory lets you search by product type, category, or location — helping you find what matters most.

We believe a collector on the road should be able to find a diecast shop in Dayton, an action figure museum in the Netherlands, or a local show in London — all in just a few clicks.

Businesses can also claim their profiles to update hours, add product types, promote upcoming events, or even include ecommerce links. Email us at support@hobbydb.com to add or claim yours.

We’re working on more features! Soon you will be able to -

  • Accept invites to events and see who else is going

  • Explore which brands will be at which shows

  • Follow and rate your favorite stores or vendors

  •

A Few Favorite Finds

The Directory isn’t just growing in size — it’s expanding in scope. Here are a few fun examples of what you’ll now find:

  • Out the Box in Colorado: a consignment shop packed with vintage toys, collectibles, and off-the-wall finds/
  • Chicago Toy & Game Fair and other major consumer shows through our partnership with People of Play.
  • The Hinkel Matchbox Museum, a small but extremely interesting private Matchbox collection open on request (a speciality of the hobbyDB Local Directory)
  • The Godzilla Store in Tokyo - yep, that is right nothing else than Godzilla (same as the Tin Tin shop in Porto, Portugal, that you guessed it only showcases Tin Tin collectibles)

Give the Local Directory a browse and reach out to support@hobbydb.com if you like to be included.
