Have you ever wondered what the difference is between MINI BRANDS and Miniverse?

Wonder no more, this post will clarify everything.

The toy company, ZURU, makes Mini Brands. The company was founded by New Zeleanders, specifically the Mowbray family.

The toy company, MGA Entertainment, makes MiniVerse. The company was founded by Isaac Larian, an Iranian who left the country as a young man.

First , I will start with Mini Brands by ZURU.

Based on my visit to Target in Woodbridge, Virginia (Prince William Parkway) on June 13, 2026 at 11:30 am, this is what I discovered: there are many levels of the Mini Brands, but I will break it down for you so that you understand it well.

ZURU-Mini Brands:

Kawaii (30+ to make and collect)

Create : Masterpieces (the framed art-there are 50+ painting and sculptures)

Create: Masterchef ( 11 dishes to create)

Really Works: Magic Cook Kitchen : Pasta (magically makes), Muffins (magically bakes), Steak(magically cooks)

Create: Krispy Kreme Doughnuts ( 9 to create)

Mini Minis : Fill the Fridge (60 + mini food)

Mini Minis : Fill the Fridge (the actual fridge)

Zuru My Mini Baby:Sweethearts ( 4 babies to collect)

Zuru My Mini Baby: Bundles of Joy ( 15 babies to collect)

Zuru My Mini Baby: Disney – Moana, Stitch, Winnie the Pooh Bundles of Joy ( 6 babies to collect)

Books (50+ iconic minis to collect)

Within the Mini Brands line, there are special categories, including “Create” , “Fill the Fridge”  , and My Mini Baby.

Based on my Visit to a Target in Woodbridge, Virginia, ZURU has 11 different categories of Mini Brand toys to select from. Within the Mini Brands line, apart from the general mini line, there are special categories, including “Create” , “Fill the Fridge” , “Really Works: Magic Cook Kitchen”  and “My Mini Baby”. Collectively, within all the categories, there are approximately more than 238 collectibles to collect. ZURU has THREE Mini Baby collections, and collectively there are 25 babies to collect. The biggest Mini Baby collection is their My Mini Baby Bundles of Joy Collection, which has a collection of 15 babies.  The “Create” category has more than 70 collectibles. Overall, the general category of food is ZURU’s biggest category. In the food category, ZURU has the “Really Works” & “Fill the Fridge” & “Masterchef” lines.

Now let us look at MGA Entertainment’s Mini Verse.

FOOD

Make it Mini: Make it from Scratch-Mix it, pour it, make it (There are 12 to make and collect).

Make it Mini: Treats: Pez, Ring Pop, Bazooka, Jolly Rancher, Peeps, ICEE, Twizzlers, Mike and Ike, Chupa Chups, and Hot Tamales  (There are 12 to make and collect).

Make in Mini: Cafe  (there are 8 to make and collect)

Make in Mini: Taco Bell (there are 8 to collect)

PEOPLE AND ANIMALS

Make it Mini: Real Baby (there are 8 to make and collect)

Make it Mini: Animals (There are 8 to make and collect).

BOOKS/MOVIES/TV SHOWS

Make it Mini: Minecraft (There are 12 to make and collect).

Based on my Visit to a Target in Woodbridge, Virginia, MGA Entertainment has 17 different categories of Mini toys to select from.  Collectively, there are approximately 185 collectibles to collect.  The food category is MGA Entertainment’s biggest category.

BABIES: ZURU has THREE Mini Baby collections, and collectively there are 25 babies to collect. The biggest Mini Baby collection is their My Mini Baby Bundles of Joy Collection, which has a collection of 15 babies. MGA Entertainment has the Make it Mini: Real Baby line in which there are 8 to make and collect. ZURU has a greater selection of mini babies to collect based on what was on the shelves at TARGET on the day of my observation.

FOOD: Both ZURU and MGA Entertainment have a large collection of mini food.  Although MGA Entertainment does not have a mini fridge like ZURU does , at Target, they do have a variety of food options. ZURU also has a variety of food options.

Items ZURU has that I did not see on the shelves for MGA Entertainment are the Book and Art Series.

Items MGA Entertainment has that I did not see on the shelves for ZURU are the Mini Fragrance, Spa, Sneakers, Plush,  Animals, and spaces.
