The Toy Association™ has been actively engaging with congressional leaders on Capitol Hill to educate policymakers on the negative impact of potential tariffs on toys. These discussions have taken place with the offices of key decision-makers who hold leadership positions within their respective chambers and parties.
“The Toy Association is bringing the industry’s collective voice to Capitol Hill to ensure congressional leaders hear from our member companies about how tariffs on toys would increase toy prices for American families, compromise U.S. toy jobs, and could drive consumers to purchase less expensive, unbranded, and non-compliant knock-off toys for kids,” said Kathrin Belliveau, chief policy officer at The Toy Association. “We remain committed to advocating for policies that support a fair and competitive marketplace and put children’s safety at the heart of everything we do, and we look forward to working with members of Congress and the Trump Administration to protect millions of American children and families and the U.S. toy industry at large.”
The Toy Association has developed key talking points for conversations with representatives, including statistics on the impact of tariffs and key information related to supply chain logistics, toy safety, the significant role of the toy industry in the nation’s economy, and the educational and emotional benefits of play for all ages. Companies that would like The Toy Association’s talking points and template letters, as well as information on how they can connect with their federal representatives, may reach out to Kathrin Belliveau.
Members are also invited to join The Toy Association’s weekly tariff meetings; please contact Kathrin Belliveau to learn more.
