This TAGIE speech is a few years old, but it still rings true today.
Some of you may know me from my early days with Leapfrog. Others, from launching Sifteo, one of the most innovative tech toys of its time. And others still, my own building toy startup Build & Imagine, where I created magnetic dollhouses. After selling Build & Imagine, I left the toys for the fast-growing cannabis industry. But the pull back to toys is a strong one. I am excited that I just started consulting with the startup CraftieFox, to help them launch StoryPod in retail. We'll be looking for select partners for a limited rollout for this award-winning screenless storytelling platform. When you place collectable audio characters and books on the smart speaker, it activates stories, songs, and games. I'm fired up and excited to have an excuse to reach out to my Toy Industry friends!
Hi friends. Quick update on what I'm up to! After selling Build & Imagine, I took a few years away from the #toyindustry and am inching my way back via consulting gigs (marketing, sales, and design). I only wanted to re-enter the toy industry if something excited me, and #Storypod does. It's a smart speaker for kids that is an interactive storytelling toy. This new category has been BLOWING UP in Europe and is new to the US. Storypod is screen less, educational, and provides for hours of independent play. Kids launch stories, songs, and games by placing smart accessories (stuffed animals, books, and more) on the Storypod. After a successful kickstarter, Storypod had a big online launch in 2021, selling out multiple times. My task is to test the waters in #specialtyretail and beyond. We're looking for a select group of retailers ready for this innovative new growth opportunity.
