Biographies and Interviews

Name: Kedar Narayan

Location: Lansdale, PA

YIC: 2015 Junior Category Winner

Invention(s): Storibot

Where is your invention now?

I have not continued working on Storibot that I pitched during the Young Inventor Challenge! I still have a digital copy of Storibot which is a board game using Braille and block-based programming concepts to teach visually-impaired children the basics of programming.

I had the opportunity to be featured on the Steve Harvey Show called Little Big Shots with Storibot. Check it out: Kedar talks computer code on Steve Harvey TV for Little Big Shots Week

I also had the opportunity to give a TEDx Youth Talk on how video games and computers can help people learn to code. Check it out:

Have you invented any other toys/games since the YIC?

In 2017, I made an app called "Pollinator for a Pet" when I was 9 years old to teach people how to grow native pollinator gardens, and was partnered with the National Wildlife Federation as a Pollinator Youth Ambassador.

Read about it on the NWF website: https://www.nwf.org/Magazines/National-Wildlife/2023/Spring/Conservation/Next-Generation

Are you planning to work or study in a related field (STEM, design, entrepreneurship, toy/game industry, etc.)?

Yes! I'm a full time university student at Penn State University, studying neuroscience engineering as a sophomore. I earned my associate degree in Nanofabrication Manufacturing Technology in late 2023 at the age of 14 years old through Northampton Community College. My dream is to enter the medical field and become a brain surgeon.
