Our growing and fast-paced Game Development Department is seeking to hire, a Gameplay Production Designer. You will help us develop games from a production and physical user experience standpoint, rapidly prototyping and iterating game components and packaging for games from the earliest stages of development through to production. As a key member of the Development team, you will be working in a fast paced and highly creative environment and you will play an integral role in bridging the gap between Development, Production, Sales and Marketing teams to create complete game packages (including gameplay components, packing materials and retail display solutions).
HOW YOU'LL CONTRIBUTE:
Work with developers to create full product solutions (including all gameplay components and packing materials) and prototypes for games in progress with a key focus on affordably enhancing user experience
Create and present a complete bill of materials (BOM) for games in the early development stages, including multiple solutions for individual components (to give a reasonable range of COGs)
Work with production to iterate BOMs for each game based on feedback from manufacturers
Find creative solutions to solve for cost of goods (COGs) together with developers to maintain quality of user experience
Act as the single contact point between developers and the production team from development through final production
Coordinate with production, marketing and sales teams to allow for scaling of sampling and prototyping needs
Work with production, marketing and sales teams to design and prototype retail display solutions (i.e. CDUs, POP displays)
WHAT WE NEED:
2 plus years of game development experience
Fluency in Adobe Creative Suite and CAD software
Researched and up to date on 3D printing and laser cutting / glowforge hardware, as well as other fabrication platforms
Understanding of manufacturing processes from beginning to end
Experience working with at least one manufacturer in North America, Europe and China, preferred
Strong organizational and project management skills
Strong team player with the ability to manage feedback from multiple creative, diverse sources
Passion for tabletop games
