Inclusive Imagination: Play Without Limits

Inclusive Imagination is built on the belief that play is more than entertainment; it is the foundation of connection, learning, and community. The company was founded by Garrett Whitmyre, a Special Education Teacher from Tacoma, WA, whose career has been dedicated to breaking barriers and creating accessible experiences. With a mission to ensure that people of all ages and abilities can share in the joy of play, Inclusive Imagination is leading the way in universal design for both education and recreation.

“I’ve seen firsthand how a lack of accessible materials can leave people excluded from the joy of play,” says Whitmyre. That insight inspired the creation of Apprentice ICG & Enchant ICG (Inclusive Card Games): fantasy tabletop adventures featuring beautifully accessible cards, dice, and adapted digital play. By blending universal design with epic storytelling, Inclusive Imagination proves that accessibility enhances the magic of tabletop games.

Early Learners Included: Play-Based Inclusion

As both an educator and innovator, Whitmyre wanted inclusion to begin as early as possible. That vision led to the Touch & See Rainbow Blocks the first of their kind with both print and braille. Bright, safe, and tactile, these silicone blocks foster inclusion awareness while building motor skills, language, and creativity. “If we can normalize a concept like braille in early play, then inclusion becomes a natural part of learning,” Whitmyre explains.

Access Arcade: Digital Play for Everyone

Inclusive Imagination extends beyond the tabletop. Garrett Whitmyre also created Access Arcade, an Android/iOS app designed from the ground up for accessibility. With adaptive-switch and screen-reader compatibility, the app allows gamers with physical or sensory disabilities to actively participate in the same games with their friends and family. In place of the status quo of passive play or non-participation, the app adapts the experience so everyone can engage fully, side by side. By bridging digital and physical play, Access Arcade demonstrates how thoughtful design can make gaming genuinely inclusive for all.

Universal Design: A Movement, Not a Trend

With years of experience training, teaching, and leading in accessibility, Whitmyre is determined to push beyond “add-on accessibility” toward universal design as the standard. Inclusive Imagination champions innovation for equity, showing that when you design for everyone from the start, you don’t just include more people; you create richer, more joyful experiences for all.
