Fisher Price

by : Mattel

Fisher-Price was founded in 1930 by Herman Fisher, Irving Price, Margaret Evans Price, and Helen Schelle. The company’s first toys were made with ponderosa pine and steel parts and decorated with lithographic labels. The company took off after showing 16 toys at the American International Toy Fair in New York City. They started producing plastic toys in the 1950s, and introduced the Play Family, later called Little People, in the 1960s. The Quaker Oats Company bought Fisher-Price in 1969. In 1991, Fisher-Price became independent again, but by 1993, it was a wholly owned subsidiary of Mattel. Mattel decided to market all preschool products under the Fisher-Price brand in 1997. The brand is still active today.
