Full-time Product Marketing Specialist – Party & Family Products position available with Carlsbad, CA-based board game company.

Location: Carlsbad, CA.

Reports to: Sr. Product Marketing Manager

Status: Full-time

Summary

The Product Marketing Specialist – Party & Family supports marketing efforts for key items in our diverse portfolio of party and family products. This role works closely with internal teams and external partners to execute strategic marketing initiatives that drive consumer engagement, retailer adoption, and sales growth. The ideal candidate is a creative thinker with a passion for board games, pop culture, and entertainment marketing, with experience in campaign development, product positioning, and cross-functional collaboration.

Priority Ranking

Act as a "Product Champion" – Across a portfolio of games, build internal and external awareness, understanding, and support for products through marketing strategy, creative ideation, and consistent messaging.
Marketing Execution & Performance Tracking – Develop and execute marketing campaigns while analyzing key performance metrics to optimize strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Lead product launch campaigns to maximize engagement and demand.
Develop and execute marketing plans that align with product and company initiatives.
Work closely with the Sr. Product Marketing Manager on the product release calendar and communicate key updates to stakeholders.
Provide regular reporting on campaign performance, analytics, and key insights.
Support sales teams by developing marketing materials, sell sheets, and retailer-focused promotions.
Collaborate with the marketing team members to ensure social media, website, and email marketing efforts align with product marketing strategy through engaging content, including product videos, photography, and promotional assets.
Attend and contribute to Party & Family product meetings, providing marketing insights and strategic input.
Partner with the digital marketing team to optimize paid media and influencer strategies.
Represent The Op Games at industry events, trade shows, and media interviews.
Collaborate with PR and influencer marketing teams to support product awareness initiatives.
Assist with broader marketing team initiatives, including brainstorming sessions, presentations, and trade show planning.
Support budget tracking, marketing asset approvals, and project organization.

Qualifications

2+ years of experience in consumer marketing, preferably in entertainment, gaming, or licensing.
Strong understanding of B2C and B2B marketing strategies.
Experience developing and executing creative campaigns.
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage agency relationships.
Strong analytical skills and ability to leverage data for campaign optimization.
Proficiency in creating presentations and marketing reports.
Experience working with influencers, social media teams, or PR agencies is a plus.

On-site presence at our Carlsbad office. Limited travel as needed (~5%).
