Crab Crossing

Crab Crossing is a cute cooperative strategy board game for ages 7+.  It has toy-like pieces, funny characters, and acts as a gateway board game for children and parents to both enjoy.

How to Win:

Your mission: work together to move 10 red crabs across to the other side of the island, just like Christmas Island of Australia! Will your crabs get crushed by speeding cars, or will the sweeper brush them off the road to safety?  Will your crabs avoid the ferocious coconut crab or deadly crazy ant swarm? Or will the tourist wander off with them to another location?

Components:

1 game board, 10 Red Crab tokens, 4 fish tokens,  3 predator tokens (Coconut Crab, Crazy Ant, Car), 1 friendly character (Sweeper), 1 neutral character (Tourist), road paths, 20 predator cards, 2 dice, 1 treasure chest token

Set-Up:

Players decide on a road path according to level of difficulty.  They place the 4 fish tokens on their assigned food spaces.  The 10 red crabs are lined up one side of the island and predators are placed on their starting spots according to dice rolls.  The predator card deck is placed face-down next to the board.  Each player then chooses a crab role with special abilities:   Fast Crab, Zigzag Crab, Burrow Crab, and Sneaky Crab.

On Your Turn:

Player takes two actions:  using their role's special ability, they can move one crab twice or two crabs once.  They then draw a predator card to see which predator moves towards them.  If the predator lands on a crab, the crab is removed to the treasure chest.  However, if a crab manages to carry food to the other side of the island, then a crab can be respawned.

End of Game:

All 10 crabs reach the other side (you win!) or there is no way to respawn any removed crabs.
